Informative.

For a beginner's book, I think this has been comprehensive and detailed. In fact, any newbie on Day Trading will surely get more info here. If one wishes to make it good financially and without the stress and pressures of a normal 9-6 job, this book will be able to explain more how it can be done. I was able to understand Day Trading more too. Now I have an idea that endeavor is a quick and safe way to make money by trading stocks within a day’s exchange. Informative, this is what this book is.

Well, it is given that when you invest your money into something it is guaranteed that you are also risking the money. That being said, I would recommend that you study first the investment type. This book teaches you the very basic or options trading. You will also learn how to trade options, learn the strategies, what you should do and shouldn't do, and it will introduce you to the jargons of day trading. I would say this is NOT a sophisticated book about day trading. It is simple, straightforward, it is also easy to understand. This book won't intimidate you with intricacies of day trading, save that when you already know what this is all about and you are ready to invest. The author kept it simple and informative. For beginners, this is a good book. So stay informed. Read. Study. Apply.

Okay not bad, interesting for fans

Not bad if you're a fan. But it is not really much of a book. It's really just a bunch of random memories, through his life, that are loosely organized into chapters that encapsulate the respective memories. It is just so random after he addresses a few key points, that is, why did he leave The Stranglers, how the band was started, time in prison.

However it's worth reading if you like The Stranglers and Hugh's solo work. It's cool to read how the band began in the 70s and worked into the 80s. It was a different time without digital media. He has quite a few stories to tell and some very questionable judgement at times (harboring a friend/armed robber a couple of times).

It's a nice quick easy read and of course his and the band's work is unquestionably the star and main interest. I would have liked to have seen a little more introspection from Hugh. He has a book going over each song so that might be a good place to see more into his thinking. The songs aren't necessarily deep but they are often articulate and he has a way of expressing complex ideas simply...

"But who gets the job
Of pushing the knob?
That sort of responsibility
You draw straws for if you're mad enough"

But if you watch his interviews on youtube you can see how he is, pretty much just doesn't let things bother him too much and doesn't dwell on things, the how and why. I'm a big fan and it's a fun read though he could have done better but that would be asking him not not be Hugh. :)

Tour de Force

The old campaigner looks back and there is much to cover in a rock n roll life. He writes well in a stream of conscious narrative, weaving tales and milestones together under memoir headings rather than strict chronology. It's a good read with no sugar coating. Life in the Stranglers wasn't for the faint of heart nor what would now be considered PC. He seems a better man since leaving the band and shares his intelligent reflections well.

Hugh sets the record straight

As a long time Stranglers fan, I was overjoyed when I found this book - and I was not disappointed. Not surprisingly, Hugh Cornwell turns out to to be a more than decent writer, with effortlessly flowing prose and acute, often hilarious observations. Being a Stranglers fan, the period in the band was the most interesting to me, but others may find other parts equally interesting.

There was always a feeling that Cornwell was the brains of the Stranglers (especially when listening to the band's post-Cornwell output). This is corroborated by his (albeit biased) account of the band's story (as part of his own). Unlike the remains of the band, Cornwell bears no rancor after the split, and seems honestly puzzled by the others' attitude.

A must for any hard-core Stranglers/Hugh Cornwell fan.

About the Author
Leigh Shambo, MSW, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, describes a model for incorporating Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) as an adjunct therapy for adult and youth clients in individual or group therapy formats. Internationally recognized as a pioneer in the use of this animal-assisted therapy, Shambo is the lead author for HEAL-sponsored research on the efficacy of equine therapy for survivors of complex trauma. Shambo founded Human-Equine Alliances for Learning (HEAL), a non-profit 501c(3) in 2000, which supports EFP research and provides equitable access to Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy. In addition to her ranch-based practice, Shambo is frequently invited to teach workshops and seminars on Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy in the US and abroad.

Listening Heart: making the "magic" make sense

Having worked with kids and horses for countless years, I have always been moved by the magic that seems to occur. Leigh Shambo's book, for the first time explains the function of the neurons in the Limbic response. She defines "keys" or progressive steps, from the bottom up that many practitioners have intutively followed to one degree or another, but her research clarifies this progression and allows other practitioners to evaluate their own models or format and consider where, perhaps, there is something missing. Within a short time of begining her book I experienced that "Ahhhh" response. I couldn't put it down. I had it finished by daybreak! This is a great book for the industry, a long time coming! Thank you Leigh and David for a splendid look at why the magic.

Fascinating

I was privileged to interview and photograph some of this author's work for a chapter in The New Agritourism: Hosting Community and Tourists on Your Farm From that point on, it was obvious she had insights into the human condition that could benefit the world in profound ways. This book goes much deeper than the simple story of how much humans and horses like each other. The case histories and details on how our minds work were fascinating.

Powerful & clear view of the science & heart behind healing, experiential work with horses

As a facilitator in this field of healing experiential work, this is a brilliant and much needed piece of work for the industry. The author has done a very good job of helping the reader understand the science that is at work and how blending relational experiences between client, horse, and facilitator can create profound healing. This is a must read for anyone working in the field of experiential learning or psychotherapy with horses. You will not only come away with a deeper understanding of the scientific infrastructure of this work, you will take away many ideas and exercises to put in to your work with clients.
